This year at PHEX Manchester, on the 4th & 5th October, we will be introducing the new testo 320 Flue Gas Analyser. Designed to provide the domestic engineer with all the functionality to provide a complete heating system diagnosis, the testo 320 Flue Gas Analyser has a colour graphic display, providing a unique user interface experience to allow simple access to measurement menus for flue gas analysis, draught measurement, pressure, ambient CO measurement, letby & tightness testing, and many more. Use the testo 320 to quickly determine and eliminate malfunctions, monitor legal limit values and spot checks in daily work on servicing heating systems.
The testo 320 Flue Gas Analyser comes as standard with bluetooth communication to android devices such as a smartphone or tablet device using the testo combustion App. This allows users to control the analyser remotely, view graphical data on set parameters, and also provide fast and efficient reports on measurements direct from site via email.
The 320 can also be equipped with optional probes to provide the abilty to carry out gas leak detection on pipework, and also if required measurement of ambient CO & CO2 values.

The heating season may be over for the time being (providing we get more sunshine – this is the UK after all!) but good weather also spells an increase in demand for ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance.

Smart Probes Refrigeration set
In conjunction with a smartphone or tablet, the refrigeration set is ideally suited to service and error detection on air conditioning and refrigeration systems, as well as their installation.
The compact refrigeration set contains the high-pressure measuring instrument testo 549i as well as the clamp thermometer testo 115i (two of each).

Our best selling anemometer is the compact testo 417 anemometer kit. With built-in flow/temperature vane Ø 100 mm to measure flow speed, volume flow and temperature, it is perfect for the majority of applications regarding measurement of volume flow.
Accurate volume flow calculation thanks to easy input of duct area. In addition, it is easy to switch to the current temperature reading. Volume Flow Hood
Testo’s new volume flow hood testo 420 is the light, precise and convenient solution for regulating volume flows at larger air intakes and outlets. At swirl outlets in particular, the flow straightener significantly reduces the usual measurement errors. This allows users to fulfil hygienic Indoor Air Quality guidelines and stipulations in ventilation and air conditioning systems quickly and precisely, e.g. in industry, office rooms or in cleanrooms.
Handling is especially easy with a uniquely low weight of less than 2.9 kg and ergonomic handles. The measuring instrument can be tilted and removed for more comfortable readout of the measurement values. In addition to this, mobile devices can be used via Bluetooth App integration as a second display and remote control. Users can use the App to finalise and send the measurement report directly on site.

Smart Probes VAC set
In combination with a smartphone or tablet, it can be used to measure air and surface temperatures, air humidity, air flow velocities and volume flows in, on and around air conditioning plants and systems.

When installing or maintaining air conditioning systems, it is important to ensure that the installation is running correctly and efficiently. Such commissioning and servicing aim at verifying the appropriate standard of the installation and detecting issues in order to improve and document the performance of the unit.
Especially in times of increasing energy costs, maintaining air conditioning systems is gaining more and more significance. A poorly-performing unit can easily exceed the annual heating costs of a building or amount to twice or three times the costs of a building’s lighting system. 
In order to improve the efficiency of an air conditioning system and reduce its energy consumption, it is important to use the right testing equipment, which provides all the relevant information in a simple and reliable way. This makes troubleshooting and performance verification easier and more accurate as it supports technicians in their daily work by improving their productivity and competence.
This trend led Testo to develop and introduce their new range of wireless probes this year, called Smart Probes.
This range of 8 handheld measuring instruments connects to Android or iOS smart devices via Bluetooth and communicates with a free App from Testo. Especially the Smart Probe Refrigeration Set, combining two high-pressure probes and two clamp probes, offers all relevant measuring instruments to ensure simple and accurate measurements of actual pressures and temperatures. Using the transferred data, the Smart Probes App then automatically calculates superheat and sub-cooling on the air conditioning system and helps monitoring and controlling them smart and efficiently. The effects of system adjustments can be seen quickly without the need for manual measurements and calculations. Results of the tests are recorded on site in PDF or Excel format and, after adding customer details to the report, can be emailed directly to the customer or to the office for filing.
In addition to the Refrigeration Set, two Thermohygrometer Smart Probes testo 605i can be a very useful supplement in order to calculate the air conditioning system’s capacity and can give a more comprehensive image of the unit’s efficiency. By measuring the relative humidity and temperature of supply and return air as well as entering the cubic feet per minute, the thermal energy in British Thermal Units (BTU) per hour, is automatically calculated and displayed in the App. This indicates the amount of heat per hour an air conditioning system can remove from an area and, thus, describes how quickly and effectively the unit cools a room. All measured values of the Refrigeration Set in combination with the two Thermohygrometers are displayed in the same App on one portable device and help engineers to work more efficiently and smarter than ever before.
The launch of the new electrical product range, now adds a third key feature to Testo’s smart way of measuring. The electrical clamp meter testo 770-3 offers the possibility of adding all relevant electrical measurements to your other measurements again in the same Smart Probe App. That means, voltage and current measurements enable the monitoring of an air conditioning system’s electrical efficiency. Additionally, the integrated power measurement function allows an automatic calculation of wattage within the app due to parallel voltage and current measurements. This supports engineers in determining the energy efficiency rating (EER) of the air conditioning unit as a ratio of the system’s cooling energy (in BTU/h) to its electrical energy (in Wh).
Thus, by using the same App, Smart Probes and the new testo 770-3 Clamp Meter provide engineers with all the information they need to efficiently measure, monitor and control air conditioning systems and help them to generate a comprehensive report on the unit’s efficiency and total performance.
