Preserving exhibits from damage is undoubtedly the number one priority for museums. The importance of this is further increased because of the liability obligation towards owners of priceless artefacts and loaned exhibits. Since many of these are climate-sensitive, it is incredibly important to monitor environmental conditions such as air temperature and humidity. Transportation and shock

Simple Documentation for your customers

As we have mentioned above, all measurement data is downloadable as either a PDF report or Excel file, and can be sent directly to your email account. Another advantage of the App running on a tablet or phone is the Smart Probes App will pick up on the address you are working at.

Once measurements have been completed a simple Import function in the App allows customer details to be automatically added to reports which can be saved and emailed. This means all reports can quickly and easily be tailored specifically for each individual job.

Smart probes connect and run entirely via Bluetooth, so no need to worry about using up your 3G internet allowance, as this will be unaffected.

Testing temperature in the food industry

The food industry and its produce effectively powers the nation. None of us would last long without the milk to make that first cup of tea or that bacon sandwich in the morning. This puts a lot of pressure on the industry which keeps the nation running to ensure that the production, preparation, storage and transport of food is all carefully monitored and regulated. All of these points in the process are potential danger areas with regard to spoilage due to the mismanagement and poor regulation of temperature. With the right equipment and instrumentation (such range of Testo thermometers) you can clearly and precisely monitor, maintain and manage the temperature of produce at any given stage.

In order to help food industry professionals manage the process more safely there exists a system of guidelines known as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point). This provides guidance as to the safe handling, storage, production, transport and cooking of food material so as to avoid any spoiling of high risk foods. A high risk food is a food stuff which is subject to the rapid multiplication of pathogens such as bacteria when its temperature is improperly maintained.

Certain foods such as meat, fish and dairy – need to be kept at specific temperatures to avoid their spoiling and becoming dangerous for human consumption. There is a specific temperature danger-zone for these types of food, which is the optimum temperature for bacterial development and growth. This danger zone is between 5 – 60 degrees centigrade – see handy illustrating diagram. Given that we know there is a specific temperature range at which bacteria reproduces, the importance of the ability to accurately measure and monitor food temperature becomes more clear.
