Remember; if elements located underneath the surface affect the temperature distribution on the surface of the measuring object through conduction, structures of the internal design of the measuring object can often be identified on the thermal image.

Nevertheless, the thermal imager only ever measures the surface temperature. An exact statement about the temperature values of elements within the measuring object is not possible.
