testo top tip #3
How many times have thermographers overlooked what could have been a serious thermal ‘find’ only because they failed to fine tune or ‘thermally focus’ the image?
Thermal Tuning means adjusting the scale of the image (the object of analysis), in order to optimise contrast contrast.
Once the image is in optical focus, it is important to thermally focus the infrared image to perform a proper analysis. Failure to perform this can severely limit the operator’s efficiency in detecting thermal anomalies.
